Three doctoral students from the MRC/CSO Social and Public Health Sciences Unit at the University of Glasgow have been accepted onto this year’s Scottish Government internship programme.

Lauren White, Karl Ferguson and Megan Yates, will take up the opportunity: the internship scheme is delivered in partnership with the SGSSS (Scottish Graduate School of Social Science).

The three month internships will begin in the summer and see Lauren, Karl, and Megan embedded within the Child and Mental Health Directorate, where they’ll work with social researchers on a variety of tasks including further developing longitudinal data on looked-after children (Megan); data analysis from the Growing Up in Scotland (GUS) study in relation to the Family Nurse Partnership (FNP) intervention (Karl); and undertaking an intensive review of the FNP’s annual reports, establishing gaps in the research and looking at the potential for creating an evidence base in Scotland (Lauren).

Further information on the internships can be found here.
