Teachers from all over Scotland and the North of England will be heading to the UofG next month for a STEM-focused, week-long placement.

The event has been organised by, Dr. Joanna Wilson, Research and Postgraduate Convenor and Programme Director: M.Res. in Biomedical Sciences in the School of Life Sciences.

The initiative is being funded by the national organisations: STEM-learning and the Biochemical Society. The aim is to improve the transition between school and university for students. The University of Glasgow will be the first in Scotland to offer such an opportunity. Teachers from as far away as Shetland have booked for the course, which runs between February 20 and 24.

"Inspire your students – increase your own understanding by attending lectures, seminars and laboratory sessions in life sciences, medicine, genetics, molecular and cell biology. Meet with students, researchers and lecturers working in Medical, Veterinary and Life Sciences at Glasgow and gain and insight into the breadth of curriculum content available to students entering this field." A promotion for the STEM event.
