University Gardens to reopen to traffic

University Gardens to reopen to traffic.

‌In early July we advised you of the closure of University Gardens from mid-July to the end of October. This was to facilitate the demolition of the Maths and Stats building. We are pleased to advise that with effect from 1 November, 2017, the road will be re-opened to traffic.

However, as illustrated in the plan below, width restrictions will be in operation so that the main construction works can be carried out in a safe manner.

This means that although cars can drive through the lower level of University Gardens, parking restrictions will still apply in this area due to the width restrictions.

These arrangements will be reviewed on a regular basis as further temporary closures may be required as construction works progress.

Thank you for your continued co-operation.
