Free flu vaccination for UofG staff

The University will be offering the flu vaccination free of charge to those employees who would otherwise have to pay to receive it.

We are delighted to announce that this year the University will be offering the flu vaccination free of charge to those employees who would otherwise have to pay to receive it, writes Selina Woolcott, Director of Health, Safety & Wellbeing.

A flu vaccination may help protect you from a nasty seasonal illness and possible complications.

Vaccination clinics will be run at the Barclay Medical Practice on a number of evenings, from 17.30-19.30 during November.

How to get the vaccination

Staff will be able to book appointments during September, direct with the Barclay Practice, to attend and receive their free vaccination.

Call 0141 342 3600 between 5 and 6 pm any Monday to Friday throughout September.

We would recommend booking your appointment early in the month, as supplies of the vaccine may become harder to obtain as the autumn immunisation programme progresses, and we wouldn’t want anyone to be disappointed.

It is important that any employee who is already offered the vaccination through their GP on account of an existing health condition, should continue to attend their own GP for the injection, to ensure the continuing monitoring of their health.
