Some of this week's headlines from Glasgow International

Ilia State University

The University of Glasgow have signed an MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) with Ilia State University (ISU). ISU is already a partner with UoG through the IMRCEES.  They visited UoG to examine the possibilities of collaboration in the field of Veterinary Public Health.  The MoU was signed by Neal Juster.

Libya

6 Libyan universities recently visited UoG as part of a British-Council led delegation.  The object was to discuss the possibility of collaboration and to introduce the Libyan scholarship scheme.

Sun Yat-sen

Delegates from Sun Yat-sen university visited UoG on Monday 24 February, to discuss research collaboration in the area of cardiovascular studies. 

Beijing

A DAO/Careers /ASBS alumni event will be held in Beijing in March 2014.

Nankai

The Principal will visit Nankai University in March 2014 to discuss the joint graduate school and to receive an honorary professorship.

Philippines

On 20 February, the Philippine Ambassador, visited the University to meet with Professor Frank Coton and other university staff. The Ambassador was in Scotland to discuss disaster relief for the Philippines with the Scottish Government, but took time to visit the University and meet with staff  engaged in research activity relating to the Philippines.
