The university's new Internal Communications Manager, Phil Taylor, started work at the beginning of the month working with the Communications Team based at 1 The Square.

His role is to increase and improve the flow of information around the University and to take responsibility for existing internal communications channels including eCampus.  Phil has joined from the James Hutton Institute, one of the Scottish Government’s main research providers, where he was Head of Communications. Phil Taylor - internal communications

Phil said: “I’m delighted to be back in Glasgow and joining the University at such a key moment in its history. Initially I am taking time to understand the organisation and its structures and most importantly to listen to what people want to tell me.  I’m a firm believer that really good communications is as much about listening as it is talking!

“The University’s Communications team has devoted a lot of its time and effort to internal communications and it will be my job to build on that work and particularly to work with and support colleagues in the four Colleges and University Services.”

Phil can be contacted on Extn: 6243; Mobile: 07711 015 088 and phil.taylor@glasgow.ac.uk
