This week sees the start of public consultations on plans for the new NHS / University of Glasgow Teaching and Learning facility at the South Glasgow Hospitals site.

The development is in its early stages and the consultation events are being held at Elderpark Library today (Monday 29 April) between 10am and 4.45pm and again tomorrow between 11am and 6.45pm.  Consultations involving local community councils are also being organised.

The University’s Estates and Buildings team is expected to work with NHS partners to manage the design and build on behalf of the College of Medical, Veterinary and Life Sciences. NHS Greater and Glasgow and Clyde say the £824 million New South Glasgow Hospitals campus will be one of the UK's most advanced, with the largest critical care complex in Scotland. It will house 30 operating theatres and one of the largest emergency departments in the country.
