University of Glasgow cycling projects

Over the past couple of months, there’s been a lot of cycling activity around the university.

Over the past couple of months, there’s been a lot of cycling activity around the university.  Cycle training has been provided to staff in 8 workshops over the past 4 weeks.  40 members of staff have taken part in cycle training sessions and bike maintenance workshops and the feedback has been really positive.

This month also saw the 200th Cycle Plus bicycle voucher handed over to Prof Chris Pearce, School of Engineering.  Prof Chris Pearce gave up his car parking permit so that he could take part in Cycle Plus.

Chris joins the other participants in Cycle Plus in using a bike to get to work, and so saving money and keeping fit.

Cycle Plus is the University's Cycle to Work scheme. The scheme enables staff members to obtain a bicycle and pay for the use via salary sacrifice, therefore saving up to 33% on the bicycle and safety equipment price.
