Busts of Adam Smith and Karl Marx were unveiled at the opening of the World Association for Political Economy

Busts of the late Professor Adam Smith and Karl Marx were unveiled at the opening of the World Association for Political Economy at the Autonomous University of Mexico in Mexico City on the 25 May.  The President of the University Dr Salvaddor Vega y Leon and by Prof Enfu Cheng the Director of the Chinese Academy of Social Science unveiled the works of art.

After speeches by Dr Leon and Prof Cheng, Dr Paul Cockshott of Glasgow University spoke remind the audience that  Smith had been a professor at the University of Glasgow, and illustrating points on which Marx had been influenced by Smith.

Immediately afterwards Dr Cockshott was among several international Scholars given distinguished achievement awards in Political Economy.
