The University’s Pharmacy, located in the Fraser Building, has launched a new travel service. This service is provided jointly by Reach Pharmacy and The Travel Clinic, based at Glasgow Airport http://www.thetravelclinicglasgow.co.uk/ and will be of use for people planning trips abroad.

The new travel service will mean that:

  • Nurses will all specialists in Travel Medicine
  • There will be no blanket advice given - advice provided is specific to each individual
  • Vaccines and anti-malarial tablets are administered at the initial appointment (if medically appropriate to do so)
  • Repellents, nets and sterile medical kits are available
  • Preventative health advice routinely provided at an appointment
  • Vaccination reminder services are available
  • Extensive vaccine and anti-malarial stock including rabies, hepatitis B, Japanese encephalitis, meningitis, tickborne encephalitis, MMR and malarone
  • The pharmacy is a registered Yellow Fever Centre
  • Student discount are available (where applicable)

The University’s Pharmacy recently picked up two national Scottish pharmacy industry awards, both for innovation in pharmacy practices. You can keep in contact with the pharmacy via the website, Facebook and Twitter, which all provide regular, up-to-date public health information.
