The Chartered Institute of Public Relations has elected Susan Stewart, Director of Corporate Communications, as one of its new Fellows

The Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) has announced 18 new Fellows from amongst its membership - in recognition of their outstanding work in public relations, service to the Institute and personal achievements within the profession.

Susan Stewart has been Director of Corporate Communications at the University of Glasgow for the past six years. Prior to this, Susan spent five years as Scotland's First Secretary for Scottish Affairs in Washington DC.  Her broad communications experience has been largely in the field of government, local, Westminster, Holyrood and foreign affairs, and it is for her contribution and achievements in this area and in Higher Education that she has been recognised with a Fellowship.

CIPR has a membership of 9,500 with only 316 elected Fellows. CIPR Fellows play an important role in promoting professionalism and best practice in the field of public relations, contributing to the Institute's working groups, panels and consultations for the benefit of the industry as a whole.
