The University's Main Gate will be closed to all traffic until further notice
Dear colleague.
I'm sorry to say that he University's Main Gate suffered structural damage over the weekend. Unfortunately, it must be CLOSED TO ALL TRAFFIC until further notice while repairs are being carried out.
For now, staff should use the Pearce Lodge or Dumbarton Road gates to enter and exit by car. Signage will be put up as a matter of urgency, and it would a great help if staff could inform all expected visitors or expected deliveries of the diversion.
Currently, pedestrians and cyclists will still be able to use the gate. A structural survey is necessary, and updates on the re-opening of the gate will be given as soon as there is news.
