From 12 January, the look of the bookmarking screens for Talis Aspire, the online reading list system, will change to improve the experience for users and meet improved accessibility standards.

This does not affect the bookmarking extension on browsers or the processes for selecting items for bookmarking. Print and electronic books are still best bookmarked form the Library Search and electronic articles directly from the publishers’ webpages via Library Search or a browser search.

When you Bookmark a book using the new-look screens, you will be offered alternative match options, but we recommend using the default option and clicking on Save in My Bookmarks, from where you can add directly to your reading list.

This will then open a screen where you can select a reading list to add the bookmark.

From the list screen, you can:

  • Select and add the Importance for the item
  • Select the position in the list
  • Add notes for students of the Library

If you have any questions, please contact the Library Reading Lists team.
