Binding: Germany, 16th-century, blind-stamped half pigskin over bevelled wooden boards, the leather decorated with a foliate roll and a roll with four biblical figures and accompanying legends:  King David with his harp “NON DABIS SANCTVM”, Christ with orb “DATA EST MIHI OMNES PO”, St John the Baptist with lamb and banner “ECCE AGNVS DEI QVI TOLL”, and the Virgin and child with a legend in Hebrew;  evidence of two clasps (both now lost);  red leather spine labels with gilt titles added later;  several coloured paper tabs (yellow and blue) throughout the volume.   Size:  302 x 212 mm.
