Provenance: William Euing (1788-1874), insurance broker, Glasgow:  source unknown;  an early Euing inventory number “32” in pencil on front pastedown.

Binding: 18th-century russet calf;  covers decorated with a double gold-fillet border and with a central panel formed by a triple gold fillet and an ornamental blind roll, with a floral ornament in gilt at the outer corners;  rebacked in the 19th century, new endpapers added (no surviving evidence of originals).   Size:  307 x 209 mm. 
Leaf size: 297 x 197 mm.
Annotations: Marginal annotations throughout in a humanist hand, but most so heavily washed out as to be illegible;  slight evidence of early interlinear corrections; loosely inserted at front is a folded sheet of paper containing Euing’s notes on this edition.
Decoration: None.
Imperfections: Wanting quires A and B (containing De vita Agricolae).
