William Euing (1788-1874), insurance broker, Glasgow:  purchased from Stark 26 June 1854 according to Euing’s pencil acquisition note and price code on front pastedown “26.6.54 bb/f(?) Stark”;  an early Euing inventory number “No 71” in pencil on front pastedown.
University of Glasgow:  presented by Euing in 1872 according to University Library bookplate on front pastedown.
Binding: 17th/18th-century parchment with fore-edge cover extensions;  sprinkled red and blue-edged leaves;  manuscript spine title “Sabellic[us] de rebus venetis”;  red leather title label and black leather date label added to spine at a later date;  rear free endpaper has watermark of the arms of Amsterdam.   Size:  345 x 240 mm.
Leaf size: 337 x 233 mm.
Annotations: 17th/18th-century manuscript title and imprint on [†1r];  frequent underlining in dull red or black in the list of contents (quire [†]) and occasional underlining in the text in dull red or black.
Decoration: Ten-line initial “V” and ten-line initial “S” supplied in brown ink on a1r and a2r respectively.
Imperfections: Wanting the final unsigned quire [*] containing the errata.
