William Euing (1788-1874), insurance broker, Glasgow:  purchased from Stark 11 Dec. 1865 according to Euing’s pencil acquisition note and price code on a1r “11 12 65 Stark af/-”;  Euing's inventory numbers "59" and "99" in pencil on verso of front free endpaper.

Annotations: Single marginal annotation on a5r extracting a keyword;  reference to Panzer’s Annales on verso of front free endpaper;  “16/- scarce” and a price code “ee” - both in pencil on verso of front free endpaper;  “Ent[ere]d”  in pencil on a1r.
Decoration: Initials supplied throughout mainly in red, occasionally in blue.
Imperfections: Wanting the blank leaf y10.
