Binding: France, 18th-century red goatskin;  covers decorated with a triple gold-fillet border, a small gold fleuron at each corner;  gold-tooled spine;  marbled endpapers;  gilt-edged leaves.   Size:  302 x 217 mm.
Leaf size: 295 x 207 mm.
Annotations: Title on 1/1r 'Manuale co[n]fessor[um] f[rat]ris Joh[annis] Nyder';  vestiges of an early numbering in ink on first recto of each quire.
Decoration: Six-line initial 'Q' on 1/1r supplied in red and blue with reserved white;  four-line initial 'S' on 2/8v (f. 20v) and four-line initial 'T' on 4/8r (f. 38r) supplied in red and faded blue/green;  other initials supplied throughout in red or faded blue/green;  chapter headings underlined in red;  paragraph marks in red.
Imperfections: None.
