Provenance: Trier, North Rhine-Westphalia, Benedictines, S. Maximinus (Imperiale Monasterium S. Maximini):  inscription on 5/8r (f. 48r) “Codex mo[na]sterij s[an]c[t]i maximi[ni] p[ro]pe t[r]euer[is]” and a similar inscription on 8/7v (f. 75v).

Binding: France, 18th-century blue goatskin;  covers decorated with a triple gold-fillet border, a small gold fleuron at each corner;  marbled endpapers;  gilt-edged leaves;  pink silk bookmark.   Size:  339 x 245 mm.
Leaf size: 332 x 232 mm.
Annotations: Very occasional marginal annotations and interlinear corrections in an early hand;  quires numbered at extreme lower inner corner of first leaf recto “1”-“15”.
Decoration: Initial “I” and six-line initial “F” on 1/1r supplied in red with purple pen-work embellishment extending into margin;  other initials supplied in red throughout, many with pen-work flourishes;  running headlines, paragraph marks and underlining supplied in red throughout.
Imperfections: None.
