Provenance: Unidentified owner:  unidentified coat of arms on 1/2r:  quarterly or and gules, in the second a two-barred cross argent;  the shield is set on a blue background and flanked by two multi-coloured winged claws grasping a leafy branch, and with two pairs of entwined ribbons or cords extending sideways from the top of the shield.

Annotations: Occasional marginal notes and interlinear corrections in a 16th-century hand in quires 7 and 9;  occasional nota marks in quires 10 and 11;  several 16th-century pen-and-ink marginal diagrams;  pen-and-ink diagrams of the planetary orbits and zodiac supplied in a sixteen-line space in the text on 3/7v (f. 27v), of the sphera terrae in a twelve-line space in the text on 4/8v (f. 36v), and of the hemispheres in a sixteen-line space in the text on 5/2v (f. 38v).
Decoration: Epigraphic eight-line initial “C” on 1/2r supplied in blue with white dot decoration on a ground of pale yellow, the body of the initial decorated with a flower;  similar epigraphic initials (several also decorated with flowers) supplied on 1/4v, 4/2r, 6/5r, 10/5v, 11/5v, 13/2v, 13/7r, 15/5v, and 18/3r (ff. 4v, 30r, 49r, 81v, 89v, 102v, 107r, 123v, and 145r);  running book numbers supplied in dull red ink;  painted coat of arms on 1/2r (see Provenance).
Imperfections: Wanting the blank leaves 1/1 and 20/7-8.
