Binding: 18th-century gold-tooled red goatskin;  covers decorated with a floral roll and an anthemion roll to a two panel design, with separate ornaments at the inner corners of the panels;  gold-tooled spine;  marbled endpapers;  gauffered gilt-edged leaves;  three silk bookmarks (pink, green, and blue);  front and rear flyleaves have watermark of a shield containing a bird and two flower-heads(?).   Size:  336 x 235 mm.
Leaf size: 323 x 224 mm.
Annotations: Occasional marginal annotations in a 16th/17th-century hand;  misprinted signatures p4 (“qpiiii”), q4 (“piiii”), A4 (“Biiii”) corrected by hand.
Decoration: Woodcut initials pasted into initial spaces in several instances (e.g. initial “M” on aa1v).
Imperfections: Wanting the blank leaves a1 and L6.
