University of Glasgow:  Hunterian bequest, 1807;  Hunterian Museum bookplate on front pastedown, with former shelfmark “Ak.3.3”.
Binding: 18th-century diced brown calf;  covers decorated with a double gold-tooled border formed by two sets of triple fillets and two decorative rolls, both of which include a fleur-de-lys;  gold-tooled spine;  marbled endpapers;  gilt-edged leaves.   Size:  334 x 240 mm.
Leaf size: 323 x 225 mm.
Annotations: Evidence of running book numbers, marginal annotations, and underlining, all so heavily washed as to be almost illegible.
Decoration: Seven-line initial “Q” on 1/1r supplied in red, the colour almost completely washed out.
Imperfections: None.

William Euing (1788-1874), insurance broker, Glasgow:  owner;  source unknown.
Stirling’s Public Library (now part of the Mitchell Library), Glasgow:  bookplate on front pastedown inscribed “A Donation from William Euing Esq 1870”.
Binding: Scotland, 20th-century blind-tooled dark brown calf;  “Bound by Dunn & Wilson” stamped in gilt on turn-in of rear cover;  new endpapers (originals not preserved or recorded).   Size: 296 x 195 mm.
Leaf size: 285 x 186 mm.
Annotations: Frequent marginal annotations (cropped by binder) in humanist hands;  very occasional manicules and underlining;  foliated “i-i5” from 1/1-2/5;  two numbers “22: 16” and “i0:” in ink in a 16th-century hand on 19/10v (f. 176v).
Decoration: On 1/1r a seven-line initial “Q” is supplied in red and embellished with floral decoration in blue and brown pen-work extending into the inner margin;  smaller decorative initials supplied at the beginning of each of the seven books (except for book 5, which is left blank).
Imperfections: None.
