Binding: 17th-century blind-tooled calf;  covers decorated with a triple-fillet border;  red-edged leaves.   Size:  244 x 177 mm.
Leaf size: 232 x 166 mm.
Annotations: Copious 16th-century marginal annotations, nota marks and underlining throughout;  printed chapter headings in red repeated in manuscript at top right of each recto leaf;  running book numbers “I”-“V” (frequently cropped by binder);  two manuscript titles on front flyleaf.
Decoration: Opening initial of books II – V supplied in gold on a square ground of pink and blue embellished with white tracery;  other principal initials supplied throughout in red and blue with reserved white and set on a ground of pen-work decoration in red and blue, often with marginal flourishes.
Imperfections: Wanting a1, a2, H3, Q1;  large hole in r7 perhaps indicating removal of an initial;  cc12 torn.
