Binding: 18th-century gold-tooled red sheep;  covers tooled to a four panel design using double and triple fillets, three different rolls, and with three different ornaments decorating the outer corners of the three inner panels;  gold-tooled spine;  marbled endpapers;  gilt-edged leaves.   Size:  324 x 226 mm.
Leaf size: 314 x 217 mm.
Annotations: Single brief marginal annotation on 18/6r (f. 144r) in an early hand;  (18th-century?) numbers “140” and “1818” on 1/1r;  on first front flyleaf “Epist”, the numbers “437” and “216 6” all in ink in an 18th-century hand, together with an 18th-century price in pencil “10-6”.
Decoration: Seven-line initial “E” on 1/1r supplied in black ink within a frame and with a small seven-petalled flower head at its left-hand side (also in black ink);  other initials throughout supplied in red (occasionally in red with reserved white);  guide-letters in brown ink visible for most initials.
