William Euing (1788-1874), insurance broker, Glasgow:  purchased from Salkeld 24 Mar. 1870 according to Euing’s pencil acquisition note with price code “24 3 70 Salkeld ax/f” on A1r;  Euing’s pencil  inventory number “No 4645” also on A1r, together with his earlier inventory number “134”.
University of Glasgow:  presented by Euing in 1872 according to University Library bookplate on front pastedown.
Binding: Scotland, 19th-century brown hard-grain goatskin, bevelled edges, covers decorated with a border of triple gold fillets and a single blind fillet;  gold-tooled spine;  sprinkled red and blue-edged leaves;  binder’s stamp “Bound by R. Nelson” at foot of front pastedown;  on rear pastedown binder’s date and price “17/10/70 17/6”.   Size:  300 x 204 mm.
Leaf size: 288 x 192 mm.
Annotations: Occasional brief marginal annotations and underlining in an early hand;  partial pagination in a 16th-century hand ending at "59" on b1r;  a later foliation added ending at "ii5" on o2r;  partially read 16th/17th-century inscription on x6v “Al Magr sigr il sigr Gi[...]”.
Decoration: Initial “L” supplied in brown ink on k3r.
Imperfections: Wanting the blank leaf a1.
