William Euing (1788-1874), insurance broker, Glasgow:  Euing’s pencil acquisition note on verso of front free endpaper “19 6 54 Conway’s sale Dublin” together with Euing’s pencil shelfmark “V-a-10” and an early Euing inventory number “No 39”.

Binding: England, 19th-century blind-tooled calf;  khaki-coloured endpapers;  marbled-edged leaves;  signs of a bookplate removed from front pastedown.   Size:  270 x 185 mm.
Leaf size: 261 x 172 mm.
Annotations: Very occasional marginal annotations in a 16th-century hand;  several lines in a 16th/17th-century hand ‘de nova religione’ on ↄ8r and on Bb8v;  the blank leaf dd10 contains a lengthy two-page annotation relating to the canonical hours, written in English in a different 16th/17th-century hand;  brief medical recipe ‘Cym[i]no mellum, for groute [sic]’ in a 16th/17th-century hand on a2r.
Decoration: None.
Imperfections: Worming at beginning and end with some loss of letters.
