Binding: Scotland, 19th-century calf;  binder’s ticket “Bound by Carss & Coy. Glasgow” on front pastedown;  pencil numbers “75/11” and “93/11” on a2r are probably binders’ job numbers;  pencil note on front free endpaper “rebound 1860”;  new pastedowns;  original late medieval parchment manuscript pastedowns preserved - the front pastedown is a single leaf containing an unidentified theological text in two columns, the rear pastedown is a bifolium containing the text of Pope Gregory the Great’s Regula pastoralis, Part III, ch. 14-16, 20-22.   Size:  318 x 222 mm.
Leaf size: 306 x 216 mm.
Annotations: Numbering “1-7” in margins of a3r (referring to “prima”-“septima regula” of the text);  marginal annotation in a 16th-century hand on bb10r.
Decoration: An eleven-line initial “H” on a2r is supplied in blue with reserved white;  similarly decorated large initials supplied in blue with reserved white on a3v, a4r, c1r;  smaller initials throughout supplied in plain blue or red;  the woodcuts are hand-coloured in pink, green, yellow, and red;  capital strokes supplied in red throughout.
Imperfections: Wanting all of parts II-IV, and the blank leaf a1 of part I.

Provenance: S.D. (17th century):  initials “S D” stamped in gilt on both covers - the same initials are stamped as a set on parts I and III of the Library’s copy of Biblia latina, Nuremberg: Anton Koberger, 1485 (B58, shelfmarks Bo1-d.1 and Bo1-d.3).
A.B. (17th century):  initials “A.B.” in ink on a2r.

Binding: 17th-century calf;  covers decorated with a triple fillet border in blind;  initials “S D” in gilt on both covers;  evidence of two clasps (both now lost);  sprinkled red-edged leaves;  rebacked in 19th/20th century with oval stamp of Glasgow College Library added in gilt to spine and given new free endpapers (originals not preserved);  pencil number “710/9” on rr6v is probably the binder’s job number.   Size:  298 x 210 mm.
Leaf size: 293 x 197 mm.
Annotations: Occasional marginal annotations and nota marks in a 16th-century hand;  unread (17th-century) code on rr6v.
Decoration: Ten-line initial “Q” on a2r supplied in blue with reserved white and set on a square ground of brown pen-work decoration, which extends into the inner margin;  initials throughout supplied in dull red.
Imperfections: Wanting all of parts I-III and the blank leaf a1 of part IV.
