Provenance: William Euing (1788-1874), insurance broker, Glasgow:  source unknown;  an early Euing inventory number “No 1” in pencil on front flyleaf.
University of Glasgow:  presented by Euing in 1872 according to University Library bookplate on front pastedown.
Binding: Scotland, 19th-century straight-grained black goatskin, decorated with a double blind fillet;  gilt bands on spine and gilt title;  marbled endpapers;  gilt-edged leaves;  green silk bookmark;  binder’s ticket on front pastedown “Bound by Carss & Coy. Glasgow”.   Size:  304 x 215 mm.
Leaf size: 297 x 205 mm.
Annotations: Margins of leaves π2-8 of the preliminary quire Tabula alphabetica profusely annotated in Latin in a 16th-century hand;  brief marginal annotations on a3r and a7r;  occasional nota marks and underlining;  signature h3 which is erroneously signed "h2" is corrected in manuscript.

Imperfections: Wanting π1 (title) of the preliminary quire and all after the blank leaf s8, i. e. the Sermones super Cantica canticorum of Gilbertus de Hoilandia.
