Binding: Austria, 18th-century quarter pigskin decorated with blind fillets, brown speckled paper-covered boards;  manuscript parchment guard strips visible in the middle of each quire;  paper label at head of spine with manuscript title “Anglici Liber de proprietatibus rerum”;  at foot of spine a paper label with manuscript shelfmark “XVII.D.2”.   Size:  277 x 196 mm.
Leaf size: 267 x 188 mm.
Annotations: Brief early marginal annotation on B3r (lib. XVI, cap. lxviii “De merochite”);  partially read 19th-century name(?) in pencil on front free endpaper “E W [...]”.
Decoration: Eight-line initial “C” on a1r supplied in red and blue with reserved white and with red cross-hatching added to the body of the initial;  six-line initial “D” on a4v supplied in red with black pen-work infill; other initials and paragraph marks supplied in red throughout;  chapter headings and running headings underlined in red;  capital strokes in yellow throughout.
Imperfections: None.
