Edward Knight (fl. 1857-1874), bookseller, Islington, London:  sold book to William Euing.
William Euing (1788-1874), insurance broker, Glasgow:  purchased from Knight 13 Nov. 1860 according to Euing’s pencil acquisition note and price code on 1/1r “312 13. 11. 60 i/ Kt.”;  confirmed in Euing’s acquisitions inventory (MS Euing 49, item 832).

Binding: Germany, 19th-century brown and green marbled paper boards and spine;  manuscript title in a German hand on blue paper affixed to front cover;  circular label with manuscript number “312” on front board (a lot or catalogue number?).   Size:  278 x 207 mm.
Leaf size: 277 x 205 mm.
Annotations: On front pastedown a reference (probably by Kloss) to Panzer’s 'Annales', II, 182, no. 61;  also on front pastedown the pencil number “3785-388” (in a German hand), the price “21/-” in pencil in a 19th century-hand, and a note by Euing referring to an edition in the 'Bibliotheca Spenceriana'.
Decoration: Six-line initial “C” on 1/1r supplied in faded pen and ink;  four-line initial “C” on 1/8v supplied in brown pen and ink.
Imperfections: None.
