Provenance: William Euing (1788-1874), insurance broker, Glasgow:  pencil initials “WE/2” and a Euing inventory number “35” added to a note copied from Santander’s 'Dictionnaire bibliographique choisi du quinzième siècle', which is tipped on to front free endpaper;  Euing’s acquisition date and price code on verso of front free endpaper “6.2/40 i/-”;  Euing’s source unknown.

Binding: 19th-century quarter brown goatskin, marbled boards;  marbled endpapers;  gilt-edged leaves;  brown silk bookmark.   Size:  207 x 140 mm.
Leaf size: 200 x 133 mm.
Annotations: Marginal annotations in an early hand in gatherings 1-3 together with “nota” marks, manicules and underlining in brown ink;  “Collatum et integrum” in pencil on verso of front free endpaper.
Decoration: Initials supplied in red throughout, some with pen-flourishing;  some initials in gatherings 1-3 are additionally decorated with grotesque faces in brown pen-and-ink;  capital strokes and paragraph marks supplied in red throughout.
Imperfections: Wanting the final blank leaf.
