Provenance:	Joseph Baer & Co., booksellers, Frankfurt:  according to Reichling (Suppl) 6 this unique copy was item 491 in Baer’s catalogue 585. John Ferguson (1837-1916), Professor of Chemistry, University of Glasgow:  Ferguson’s pencil acquisition note on front pastedown “JF June 1910 so far as is known this is unique” and his note of his source “J. Baer” on rear pastedown. University of Glasgow:  Ferguson collection purchase, 1921.
Binding:	France, 18th-century(?) parchment; a four-line manuscript legal reference in French (18th century?) is visible on the underside of the rear pastedown. Size: 207 x 149 mm.
Leaf size:	202 x 144 mm.
Annotations:	Frequent 16th-century marginal annotations, mainly in Italian (a few in Latin);  German bookseller’s pencil notes on front pastedown;  probable price code and other cryptic note on rear pastedown.
Decoration:	Woodcut initial “S” on a2r decorated in red;  capitals and paragraph marks supplied in red throughout.
