Binding: France, 18th-century(?) parchment; a four-line manuscript legal reference in French (18th century?) is visible on the underside of the rear pastedown. Size: 207 x 149 mm.

Annotations: Frequent 16th-century marginal annotations, mainly in Italian (a few in Latin);  German bookseller’s pencil notes on front pastedown;  probable price code and other cryptic note on rear pastedown.
Decoration: Woodcut initial “S” on a2r decorated in red;  capitals and paragraph marks supplied in red throughout.
