Team Building Toolkit

Teamwork drives performance in most organisations and high performing teams are highly skilled, demonstrate high levels of collaboration and produce superior results. 

A team can be defined as “a small number of people with complementary skills who are committed to a common purpose....for which they hold themselves mutually accountable” (R.Kazenbach & D. Smith, The Wisdom of Teams, Harvard Business School Press, 1993)

Team Building is  “the process of helping a work group become more effective in accomplishing its tasks and in satisfying the needs of group members”  (Huse, 1980, cited in De Meuse and Liebowitz, 1981) 

The purpose of this toolkit is to provide information, guidance and resources to anyone who has the responsibility for creating an effective team and it will provide guidance to allow line managers to design and facilitate their own teambuilding events.
