To participate you need to:

  • Sign up to both days and be prepared for practical work and constructive, live feedback that will help you hone your skills.
  • Make yourself available for a 15minute discussion before attending Day 1.
  • Do the pre-work.
  • Be willing to be open and share freely – this is an opportunity to learn from your peers.
  • Collaborate and contribute to the creation of a safe space for everyone.
  • Commit to practising the techniques after the course.

The pre-work expected of you is:

In advance of day 1

  • You'll attend a 15 minute session where our course facilitators will introduce themselves, and you will be able to share your experience and development needs.
  • You'll be invited to a Mural board along with the rest of your cohort, and on this you'll need to share a photo of yourself and answer the following questions:
    • My role is …

    • I create a positive impact for students by...

    • I want to improve… [list one aspect of your presentation skills that you want to develop]

    • My favourite book is…

    • My favourite public speaker is...

  • You will need to prepare a short, four minute presentation in advance of the session – the topic is completely up to you and it is your choice to use or not use slides, objects, or anything else you may wish.  
    • Please note that during the session, your presentations will be recorded. This will be for your personal development and reflection only, and will not be share with anyone else.
