The Memorial Chapel

At the heart of the University stands the peaceful and magnificent Memorial Chapel. Created as a vibrant memorial to love and remembrance, the Chapel is a place of beauty for both worship and celebration. One of the few locations in Scotland where marriages in the Protestant or Reformed and Roman Catholic faiths can be celebrated, weddings conducted by humanist celebrants can also be held in the University Chapel.

Timings

Weddings ceremonies can take place on Saturdays during term time and on any day during the University holidays. The University is not available for weddings on Public Holidays or during the period that the University closes for Christmas and New Year.

Weddings can start at:

  • 1200
  • 1400
  • 1600

Please note that your marriage ceremony must start at the allotted time. The University can be booked to host 3 weddings each day, therefore in order for you to enjoy your wedding service to the full, each marriage ceremony must commence at the agreed times of 1200, 1400 or 1600.

Failure to do this may impact on the time available to take photographs on arrival and upon exit. It may also require the visiting celebrants to adjust the wedding service to fit the available time.
