Senate
A new composition of Senate was established under an Ordinance which came into effect on 1 August 2019.
The Senate has an overall membership of c.120. This number comprises the Principal (the President of Senate), the Clerk of Senate, the Vice Principals, Chief Operating Officer and University Secretary, the Heads of Schools, student members and elected members. The last group constitute a majority of the membership. The composition established in 2019 brings the University’s academic governance fully into line with the Higher Education Governance (Scotland) Act 2016.
