co.lab is a brand new University pop-up project which offers students from all areas of study and at all stages the unique chance to come together to work on one of four challenges.
It provides a space for creative interactions, a melting pot where (we hope) artists, engineers, designers, psychologists, musicians and others can explore, learn, play and create!
The space will also host events, activities and workshops which highlight the possibilities of engaging with such a space.
It is a makerspace but also more than a makerspace! No experience or expertise required only enthusiasm!
Challenges
Students will work in teams on one of four randomly-assigned challenge areas:
Smart Campus
How do we future proof our campus and ensure it meets the changing needs of students and the community?
Community Engagement
How can we ensure that the University belongs to its community?
Interdisciplinary Worlds
How can we collaborate to improve our understanding of disciplines outside our own and to demonstrate the potential of working with artists/non-artists/scientists/non-scientists/social scientists/non-social scientists?
World Changers
How can the University promote its world-changing research to the benefits of students, academics and the community?
