Byres Hub Community Day 2026: A Prescription for Change
Join School of Health and Wellbeing staff, students and Byres Hub community groups between 12noon and 4pm on Saturday 28th March for our FREE annual community day filled with fun activities, food, refreshments, and chat. Discover projects improving health and wellbeing in our communities from a range of organisations and research groups.

Discover projects improving health and wellbeing in our communities from a range of organisations and research groups.
BYRES HUB SUBWAY
At the registration desk at the Byres Road entrance, collect your blank prescription and handout with a map of Clarice Pears level 1 on one side showing where all the facilities are and a subway map on the other. Visit as many of the subway stations as you can and add a sticker on your subway map each time you complete a challenge including:

- Right Care, Right Time with NHS 24
- Dementia awareness and fun brain health activities with Dementia Heroes in partnership with NHS24, Health Data Research UK and national dementia organisations
- Simulation Station: How Choices and Chance Can Impact Life and Health with the Policy Modelling for Health Research Team
- Culture brings us together with the Scottish Intercultural Association
- Stronger for Longer Functional Fitness with EmpowerAge
- Healthy Hearts with the General Practice and Primary Care Research Group
- Discovering ALISS (A Local Information System for Scotland) ProgrammeThe Health and Social Care Alliance
- Playlist for Life to support people affected by dementia
- Whole Family Wellbeing through General Practice with the Scottish Deep End Project
- Movement Doughnut Wall with The Ideas Club & Byres Hub
- Taster Chinese art and calligraphy with the Confucius Institute
- Daytime Disco with Weekday WOW Factor
- What matters most? You decide! with the Health Economics and Health Technologies Assessment Research Group
Once you have been on the Byres Hub Subway challenge, check into Byres Hub Medical Practice in the central hub area to write your social prescription for change and add it to the wall. Don't forget to spin the wheel and if lands on a station you visited, collect a prize.
EXHIBITIONS
- Glasgow's Health – explore population health with games and quizzes in ‘Glasgow’s Health’ interactive exhibition.
- Through our Eyes - Young People's Perspectives on Employment and Health in Inverclyde from Policy Modelling for Health research consortium and Project Search.
MUSIC
- Gie’s Peace Ukelele group will be playing in room 102 at 3pm
- Weekday Wow have a daytime disco in room 146
- Playlist for Life will be playing the soundtrack to our event with your help in sharing your happy tunes
TOURS of Clarice Pears building at 12.30pm; 1.30pm; 2.30pm; 3.30pm
FOOD & REFRESHMENTS are available throughout the afternoon supported by The Pears Community Fund with spaces to sit and connect with others and soak up the atmosphere on the day.
Byres Hub is a fully accessible and inclusive space.
