More information
Building on the concept of “sustainable welfare” and the growing field of eco-social policy, the event will develop new perspectives on how social policy can contribute to a post-carbon, post-growth future. We will welcome a series of presentations related to the concept of sustainable welfare from a range of local and international scholars.
In an increasingly hostile political and funding environment, this event will provide a forum where such research can be presented, debated, and advanced – without assuming that economic growth remains the uncontested organising principle of welfare policy. This will be an interactive space for vibrant discussion to further our understanding of the barriers to eco-social policy and how we can create a policy ecosystem that mitigates man-made climate change whilst enhancing collective wellbeing.
This event is supported by the Social Policy Association and the UofG Centre for Public Policy.
A limited amount of funding is set aside for travel and accommodation expenses for delegates who do not have funding of their own and would require some support to attend on the day. Please let us know if this applies to you and we will try to support you as best we can.
