Byres Community Hub is a unique space for research and community collaboration in the School of Health and Wellbeing.

Every second Monday, we have a dedicated time for people to come in and visit our space, and to meet our researchers and volunteers.

10am: Tour of Byres Hub and Clarice Pears building

10.30am: Refreshments and networking

11am: Topic presented by a researcher or community partner and open discussion/networking

On 30th March, the topic is Destitution by design: homelessness amongst asylum seekers and refugees. Come and learn what the law says about the rights of asylum seekers and refugees facing homelessness. There has been a lot of media attention on this topic, but how accurate is that coverage? This session will be led by Fiona McPhail, Lecturer in Social Justice and former Principal Solicitor at Shelter Scotland and delivered together with a group of law students.
