Rhona Kent is the polar oceans specialist with WWF UK, a global wildlife charity with a mission to conserve nature and reduce the most pressing threats to the diversity of life on Earth. In partnership with the wider Polar team, both in the UK and across the world, she develops WWFs policy on polar ocean governance and conservation including on Southern and Arctic Oceans fisheries and marine protected areas. Before moving into polar advocacy, she worked with the WWF marine team on fisheries management across the UK and the EU, with a particular focus on the post-Brexit UK and devolved fisheries legislation.

Prior to joining WWF, Rhona worked for the Scottish Government in their Marine Conservation team, with responsibility for the development of the Scottish marine protected areas network. Rhona started her career at sea as a scientific fisheries observer on Scottish whitefish and scientific research vessels.

Rhona graduated from the University of Glasgow with a BSc (Hons) in Marine and Freshwater Biology and also holds a MSc in Aquatic Ecosystem management from Edinburgh Napier University. We look forward to chatting with Rhona to learn more her career journey to WWF UK and her motivation to fight climate change. We will chat with Rhona about her career and explore topics such as resilience, and confidence.
