Named one of the most influential LGBT people in the UK by the Independent on Sunday and shortlisted for the Polari First Book Prize for his debut poetry collection, I Am Nobody’s Nigger, Dean's poems have been anthologised by Bad Betty Press, Emma Press, Stripes Publishing, and have appeared on BBC One, BBC Radio 4, and Channel 4. He is a member of Keats House Poets and Malika’s Poetry Kitchen. He has a Philosophy and English BA from the University of Sussex, and Writer/Teacher MA from Goldsmiths, University of London. He is a Tutor for Arvon and Poetry School, and has served as a judge for the BBC Young Writers' Award. His debut novel, The Black Flamingo, was published by Hodder Children’s Books in August 2019. As part of the on-going Creative Conversations speaker series Dean Atta will be joining us for this special event via Zoom
