This public lecture is part of the Scottish Civic Trust’s ‘Blooms with a View’ weekend of events to celebrate 30 years of its Doors Open architectural heritage programme.

It will take place in the Govanhill Baths, recently restored to their original Edwardian glory, which will be filled with celebratory flowers. The lecture will explore the fascinating relationship of art, gardens, hygiene and health in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, with examples from Monet and his Impressionist colleagues to Mackintosh and Art Nouveau.
