This explores some of the ways a member of teaching staff could research and evaluate their own teaching practice. It covers a variety of self-reflective approaches e.g. reflective journals, self-narrative research, and introduces the reflexive method of analytic autoethnography.

I’m from Arts / Social Sciences, and I’d come because: I’m actually thinking of asking my students to engage in reflective learning journals and am curious about the variety of approaches and their applicability.I’m from MVLS / Science & Engineering, and I’d come because: I would like to undertake a scholarship project and investigate my own L&T practice and am wondering about how I can formally research myself.

Tea and coffee will be available.

Please note that these CPD workshops are only open to University of Glasgow staff (including Graduate Teaching Assistants / Demonstrators).
