Course Aims

The course objectives are to equip the students with the fundamental concepts of software architectural model, the characters of various architectural types, and the principles in software system analysis. The course also teaches software architecture modeling method by using the architectural description language (ADL) and architecture designing method by using the object-oriented paradigm and Unified Modeling Language (UML), so that the student's capability of completing software architecture modeling and designing tasks against the design requirements can be built up.

Intended Learning Outcomes of Course

By the end of this course students will be able to:

1. Understand the basic concepts of software architecture models and the characteristics of various architectures.

2. Understand the basic principles of software system architecture analysis and design.

3. Master the method of modeling and designing software system architecture using modeling languages.

4. Capable of software system architecture modeling and design.
