Course Aims

The aims of this course are to:

■ give students the experience of an industrial development environment;

■ embed the engineering theory, principles and tools studied previously through practical experience;

■ develop a student's ability to evaluate and enhance their professional skills in an real context.

Intended Learning Outcomes of Course

By the end of the course students will be able to:

1. describe applicability of practices, methods and tool taught in engineering courses to real world systems and product development efforts;

2. prepare and present an effective summary of their contribution during their placement;

3. critically reflect on their experiences during their placement and make judgments on how their industrial interactions might be improved in future employment.
