Short Description

This course consists of a variety of language teaching, including translation into and from English, plus exercises in the target language such as essay writing, summary and language analysis. This course is intended only for students who are, exceptionally, exiting the 2-year language programme after one year.

Assessment

The standard assessments for this course are:

■ 2 x assessed language exercises - 15% each

■ Exam (2 hours) - 70%

If required, for instance where a disability prevents a student from undertaking a specific method of assessment, the following alternatives are available:

■ There is no alternative to the assessed language exercises, but extensions to the deadlines can be offered as reasonable adjustment (students should follow the usual process for extensions).

■ There is no alternative to the Exam, but extra time/alternative space can be offered as reasonable adjustment.

Further reasonable adjustments may be provided where necessary. Students are encouraged to consult with the course convenor.
