Short Description
This course consists of a variety of language teaching, including translation into and from English, plus exercises in the target language such as essay writing, summary and language analysis. This course is intended only for students who are, exceptionally, exiting the 2-year language programme after one year.

Available to all students fulfilling requirements for Honours entry into Portuguese.

Assessment
The standard assessments for this course are:
■ 2 x assessed language exercises - 15% each
■ Exam (2 hours) - 70%
If required, for instance where a disability prevents a student from undertaking a specific method of assessment, the following alternatives are available:
■ There is no alternative to the assessed language exercise, but extensions to the deadlines can be offered as reasonable adjustment (students should follow the usual process for extensions).
■ There is no alternative to the Exam, but extra time/alternative space can be offered as
reasonable adjustment.
