Short Description
The leadership elective aims to provide undergraduate business students with an introduction to practical leadership, supporting graduate attributes and transferrable skills in addition to covering leadership as a crucial complimentary subject to management. The course introduces traditional views of leadership and how this is changing in the 21st Century. As a changing subject the need to keep abreast of leadership developments is emphasised.

Assessment
1. Written assignment: action plan; Individual; 1250 words; 50%; ILOs 1-5.
2. Practical skills assessment; Individual; 30 minutes; 50%; ILOs 3, 5.
Course Aims
This elective aims to provide an opportunity for self-refection and leadership development in the context of 21st Century workplaces. The course will comprise some taught material on the subject of 21st Century leadership which aims for students to develop a critical view of traditional leadership theories and how suitable they are today. Additionally, the students will be coached by experienced practitioners to develop their own leadership skills. These will be developed further in an outdoor all-abilities environment. Through these methods students will integrate theory with practical outcomes and graduate attributes.
Intended Learning Outcomes of Course
By the end of this course students will be able to:
