Course Aims
The course aims to:
■ Introduce common clinical challenges in Sport and Exercise Medicine
■ Explore the ethical and medico-legal challenges of Sport and Exercise Medicine
■ Develop an understanding of the multi-disciplinary team involved in Sport and Exercise Medicine
Intended Learning Outcomes of Course
By the end of this course students will be able to :
■ Critically review and discuss the environmental problems inherent to exercise
■ Critically discuss the role of the medico-legal and ethical considerations involved in Sport and Exercise Medicine
■ Critically evaluate the role of pre-participation screening of athletes and the role and process of the World Anti Doping Agency (WADA) in drug testing of athletes
Minimum Requirement for Award of Credits
Students must submit at least 75% by weight of the components (including examinations) of the course's summative assessment.
